When you need a VPN, you have two options: buy a commercial service or set up your own server. The second option sounds perfect - until you try it. Online guides skip critical steps, assume knowledge you don't have, and leave you troubleshooting issues you can't identify.
We built Self Hosted Project to make this path simple for everyone, regardless of technical background.
What is Self Hosted Project
SHP delivers a preconfigured VPN/proxy server that's completely yours:
- Dedicated IP included by default
- No artificial speed limits - your server and protocol deliver everything they can
- Seven protocols: WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2, OpenConnect, Outline, VLESS+Reality, Hiddify
- Unlimited devices - connect as many as your server can handle
- Resistant to mass blocks - unique IP, not a known VPN range
Setup is simple. No technical background required.
Why we built it
Right now, real privacy requires expertise - server infrastructure, VPN protocols, operational security. A journalist exposing corruption shouldn't need a computer science degree to protect their sources. An activist documenting human rights abuses shouldn't have to become a Linux sysadmin to stay safe. Privacy is a fundamental right, not a technical achievement.
Most people eventually figure out the answer: rent your own server, configure your own VPN. They follow a tutorial. Something breaks. They don't know why. They give up and go back to a commercial VPN, knowing it's not really private, but at least it works.
With SHP, your VPN works immediately with secure defaults. In 10 minutes you have a working, private VPN server with full root access. We make it easy to start, but we don't lock you in - change protocols, relocate servers, configure custom routing when you need to.
Why it matters now
Mass VPN blocking is accelerating. The Great Firewall is constantly evolving and being adopted by new countries. DPI technology gets smarter. Commercial providers get compromised or compelled, jurisdictions shift, and honeypots are everywhere.
The gap between "I need privacy" and "I can achieve privacy" is widening. Commercial solutions require trusting someone's promises. Real privacy requires verification, not trust.

We don't just claim no-logs - we give you root access to check yourself. Logging is disabled, bot protection is configured. Verify anytime.

Our ethical stance
Any privacy tool can be misused. The same applies to encryption, anonymous speech, and private communication - all fundamental rights despite potential abuse.
SHP is not a shield for criminal activity. Child abuse, terrorism, and copyright piracy are unacceptable and will result in immediate suspension. We comply with legitimate legal requests related to these issues.
But we won't compromise user privacy for convenience, won't build backdoors, and won't pretend that mass surveillance makes anyone safer.
Company
SHP.Network (Self Hosted Project LLC) operates under the jurisdiction of Ukraine. In our country, the legal obligation to log user traffic and retain data is strictly regulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Communications" No. 1089-IX. However, this mandate applies exclusively to telecom operators and traditional ISPs that are officially listed in the state registry.
This official Register of Electronic Communications Providers is maintained by the national telecom regulator, NCEC. Every entity required by law to log traffic must be registered there.
Go ahead and search for our company using our identifier 45998372 - you won't find us. Because SHP.Network develops cloud orchestration software rather than providing telecom services, we do not belong in this registry. Since we are not on this list, the data retention laws do not apply to us, meaning we have zero legal obligation to log or intercept your data.
